My Life in Five Years

Next year, I’ll be a senior, so I have many things to prepare for my graduation. I already found my new room for next year, and also, I finished registering classes. I have to study hard and do my part-time job, and pass two exam ㅡ Chinese Character Exam and TOEIC ㅡ . Next year’s going to be a very busy period in my life. I have to choose what I really want to do after my graduation. In 2011, I’ll get a job at a big bookstore(like Kyobo) or translation company, and study English and Spanish. I want to take a rest for about few weeks for travel, too. I don’t think I’ll work so hard in 2011, because I need to experience as many as possible. That’s my goal for 2011. And then, after 2011, I’ll finally find my best job and do work for living. I’m not going to marry someone, because I’m a so ambitious person. I’m not sure if I can have family and work at the same time, so I just choose what I like much. My life goal is doing my best for this world and poor people, especially in Africa. I’ve been helping an Mozambique child since 2007. I’m concern about starvation and refugees so much. Also, I have much interest and worry about Global warming and People’s selfishness. I really want to do something for beautiful world ㅡ living not themselves but together. That’s the only goal I chase.

Getting to know my class mates – Gary Kennedy

Today in class I talked to Gary Kennedy, my class’s professor. He is from Montreal, Quebec in Canada. His major is Film and Communication. He works in Korea because he likes to teach and has to earn money. The reasons he choose not other countries but Korea are two; Korea has many jobs for English native speakers, and also the pay is good. He said he really enjoy teaching. His hobbies are watching movies, traveling, and playing guitar. He couldn’t say what is the best movie to him because he watches movies everyday. He traveled Europe and Asia(nine years).  He has no religion, and he lives alone in an apartment. He is single. On vacations, he meets friends or travels Korea. He plays guitar finely, and his favorite musicians are many jazz musicians and Japanese experimental musicians ㅡ for example, Keji Huino. He likes Korean food much, and at his own home he eats convenient, simple meals. His whole life’s goal is teaching. (It was very impressive answer.) He can speak French and Korean very little. He said Korean students are fine. The most hard thing is that there are too many students in a class. Class size is the hardest factor in teaching Korean students for him.

Also, I have almost every school books(special editions for Harry Potter maniacs) and every DVDs. I have Harry Potter’s muffler, too!! Harry Potter makes me dream of another world. My Dream Vacation

I’d love to go to London in the U.K. . London is the capital city of the U.K. , but to me, it has a special attraction to me ㅡ Harry Potter!   In London, there are many places that have to do with Harry Potter, so I want to visit every spot where Harry went in the novels. I like to go an Harry Potter tour as soon as possible, but actually for my tour, I have to wait at least four years. There is no best time to go there, but I think that it is better to go before November. I’ll go alone or with one of my best friends. I’ d like to go there only because of Harry Potter. I guess I’m going to stay in London about a week. I’ve wanted to go there since I was eleven years old.  I think it will cost about 1,280$, and of course that is expensive for me. I have to make 2,570$ for my whole dream vacation. Because I’m a student yet, I have to wait until after my graduation. I want to go there on entirly my own money.

My Majors

    CAM_0855(6678)

My major is English and English Literature. I’m taking “The History of the U.S.A”, and it’s really boring! I’ve almost finished my first major. I’ve been double majoring since last semester. My second major is Media Literature Creation. I really enjoy this course, but it’s also very hard and has so many things to do. I’m taking “Contemporary History of Korean Literature”, “Narrative Theory”, and “Introduction of the Science of Literature”. All of them makes me so happy because these subjects are really difficult but also interesting. My dream is work for poor people around the world, so my first major can be helpful in many ways. Also, my second major can help me when I want to move other people’s mind and win their sympathies for the poor.

My Hometown

- A picture of Hae-un-dae, by myself :)

My hometown is Busan. Busan is called as ‘the second city of Korea’ because it is the secondly biggest city in Korea. I was born  in Busan, and I’ve lived there since. The best thing as a citizen of Busan is that it has many beaches. The most famous beach is Haeundae, of course. Also, there are many places to go for fun in Busan, and you can enjoy fresh raw fish, too. I don’t know any famous people from Busan. My favorite place to hangout is Seo-myeon. It’s the big busiest street for young people in Busan. The best of the best place there for me is Kyobo bookstore.
